NightForge After Dark

S. A. Vale writes and narrates dark, lore-deep, unapologetically spicy historical fantasy — sprawling worlds filled with deception and loyalty, morally-grey people, and love affairs that cost something. Born in the west of Ireland and raised on old stories told by firelight, she found her way to the oldest story of all: a discarded man clawing his way to power in a city that priced him at nothing. Her debut, The Jackal of Carthage, opens The Carthage Cycle — ancient Carthage, 240 BC, gods with a price list and a war nobody survives clean. She reads every chapter herself, in the low Irish voice her listeners call "dangerous to hear alone." Founder of Nightforge Press: epic worlds, dangerous desire.
