Andrea Squatters

Born in Rome in 1998, I grew up in a family environment linked to cinema, television and the broadcasting sector, developing an interest in audiovisual languages and the technical infrastructure that makes their staging possible from a young age. My research focuses on hybrid languages and post-digital practices, with a specific focus on the dialogue between analogue and computational. I investigate the continuity between expanded cinema, media archaeology and contemporary immersive environments, integrating computer graphics, 3D modelling and real-time systems into performative and installation devices. From the early stages of development, I explore the potential of generative AI not as a simple production tool, but as a co-authoring agent and dynamic system capable of redefining narrative, spatial and interactive processes in mixed media art contexts. I am the founder of Squatters, a new media and interaction design studio with which I have created over twenty projects, including immersive installations, museum contexts, festivals and brand productions, exploring the relationship between space, technology and perceptual experience.
