I was born in San Francisco to a Venetian father and an American mother, perhaps Californian. Then I lived in Venice. At five years old, my mother returned to the States, to San Francisco, and, obviously, I followed her. My childhood and early adolescence were not exactly exceptional, except for the road trips I took when I had money available. Then there were the usual things you do as a kid in a big American city, except for the long-awaited periods spent in Italy with my father, who was also too busy with his teaching at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and his studies. From adolescence, I found myself too tall, 197 cm tall, and definitely problematic except with girls. At 17, I went to live alone in New York, supporting myself with odd jobs, and after two months I shared a room with an Italian girl who attended Columbia University. I started playing basketball very early and continued until, despite playing in the NBA, I had to choose between studying and playing. I chose study because it seemed less ephemeral, given that I was so studious that I always paid for my studies with various scholarships. I attended Columbia University, choosing psychiatry, then psychoanalysis with a pass at the École Freudienne de Paris avec Jacques Lacan. In the meantime, I have always worked as a motivational researcher. I was married and lost both my wife Jàsckée and my daughter Angie in a plane crash. Then many other relationships that did not come to fruition. I have been in Italy for seven months, where I collaborate on a project between NASA, ESA, and ASI and 14 EU space agencies, plus Russia. I live between Venice, Rome, Gran Sasso, and the Netherlands, where the ETEC headquarters is located, depending on the commitments of the team I lead. I have always been a member of M.S.F. Médecins Sans Frontières, and have participated in about thirty humanitarian missions in various countries where wars against the poor have taken place over the last 23 years. I love interacting with people, listening, understanding, having fun dancing, and living a normal life. Women seem to like me, but too many women are equal to no woman. I love sports: diving, mountaineering, cycling, hang gliding, sailing, volleyball, motorsports on two or four wheels, and, of course, basketball. I tend to be very active, without fame or infamy, available, simple and complex, confident but not omnipotent, I am simply a person who loves the poetry of living.
